Much as people try to be accepting at most groups they just don’t understand children with additional needs. The Mushroom Theatre Company is different; it is the only place where we would consider leaving our little boy for an activity day without hanging around ourselves. The staff and volunteers are remarkable, it is heart-warming to see the joy in those with and without disabilities sharing experiences with equal enthusiasm.

I am very proud to be an active supporter of Equal People Performing Arts and of the associated Mushroom Theatre Company, because of the wonderful work that they do within our community. The productions the Company puts on, in which children, including those with additional needs, work together so closely, provides a wonderful example of what young people can do to help overcome the challenges they face. Mushroom’s shows are truly inspiring and I am very proud to have such a wonderful charity based in my constituency.

Equal People Performing Arts is a fantastic venue. I do belly dancing classes there on a Monday night and it’s always clean, swept and ready to go when I arrive (unlike other venues I’ve used in the past).
